#TalkTrash

Featured as a completely digital campaign, #TalkTrash was created to reinvent the idea of proper waste management. Trash is an environmental concern but for the everyday citizen taking care of your waste can be a hassle. My mission —make it trashy and fabulous.

The Mission

The Mission

Southface needed to extend their network and reach out to their audience and connect with people in a way that they had not tried before. Not only were they looking to gain more contacts, but they also wanted to spread awareness that would impact social change. So the team started talking trash! Featured as Southface’s first completely digital campaign, my mission was to help reinvent the idea of what proper waste management can look like in offices in the US.

The Outcome

The Outcome

I designed their brand identity for the campaign to make it memorable and unique to their younger audience. I also built out their microsite, landing page, iconography, advertisement visuals, and accompanying collateral.

The Impact

The Impact

Not only did they reach a new audience through their social media presence, but Southface’s website also experienced a new visitor rate surge. Offices all around the country downloaded their campaign collateral (recycling posters, infographics, signage) and interacted with their posts on social media. The campaign made a $40,000 contribution to their annual fund.

My design work on Southface’s public awareness campaign, Talk Trash, was chosen as one of Rubicon Global and Sustainable Brands’ Waste Fit Champions of 2018, a program that recognizes leaders in sustainability, waste diversion, and recycling.

#TalkTrash Training Wheels

#TalkTrash Training Wheels

I created several downloadable freebies as a trade for viewers clicking on our calls to action. Our calls to action featured on ads and social media posts were for viewers to become participants in learning about how to talk about in their office space. Participants signed the pledge to #TalkTrash in their office.

Taking the pledge would sign them up for emails that would welcome them to the #TalkTrash community and give them access, over a series of emails, to downloadable educational material teaching them how they can start Talking Trash at their workplace.
